I've been thinking the last few days about dedication and devotion and I wonder if anyone in the group has any further thoughts on this.
Through my life, I have been dedicated and devoted to several causes - my marriage, my kids, church, my education and I feel this somehow all contributed to my awakening.
Although I wasn't dedicated to a spiritual practice, I developed the qualities of dedication and devotion through other means and maybe this laid the ground for spiritual awakening?
I'm curious if this resonates with anyone?
I am dedicated to spiritual awakening and not dedicated to all those other things. But life is life and if you are dedicated to life, I think it's kind of dedication to spiritual awakening.
It sure does resonate with me. Being dedicated implies developing many other qualities, like wisdom, benevolance, empathy, listening etc etc...
I like to see life itself as a spiritual journey, to each their own.
Interesting thought Jo. I was wondering if caring about and dedication to other people, causes, or creativity could all make awakening more likely as they are all focusses that take us away from and out of our selves....and make us more open to a bigger picture and ultimately the Oneness?
