Michael Bradford has been involved in research on Kundalini and consciousness for more than 45 years. In 1977 he traveled to India where he spent six years serving as a volunteer worker for the Central Institute for Kundalini Research, founded and directed by the late Pandit Gopi Krishna. Michael has been a board member of the Institute for Consciousness Research (I.C.R.) since it was founded in the 1990’s, and has been Director of Publications during this time. In 2015, he also became a board member of the Emerging Sciences Foundation (E.S.F.). He was also a founding member of the Kundalini Research Network (K.R.N.) and served as joint coordinator for the organization from 1993 to 1995. She first experienced kundalini in her 20’s, and continues to work with it as an established part of her spiritual life and practice. In 1976, after studying Paramahansa Yogananda’s teachings, I experienced a kundalini awakening that united me with the divine. Several years later, I encountered the message of Hazrat Inayat Khan, which deeply resonated with me. In 1981, I was initiated by Pir Vilayat Inayat Khan and devoted myself to Sufi practices of inner transformation. Over time, I felt called to help others struggling with spiritual growth and embodiment. Through the Kundalini Collective, I realized I could support those facing the challenges of awakening. Reflecting on the many spiritual awakening / kundalini experiences we’ve all shared in the Collective, Jeannet will ask whether there might be an underlying process, which we are all experiencing in our own ways, so that it looks different for each of us. She will bring together the themes of kundalini, psychedelics, and trauma, exploring these mostly through a Jungian lens, making use of the understanding of ‘complexes’ and ‘daimons’ offered. Sharing some of her own experiences, Jeannet asks: How do people understand what’s going on in these states? Does the theory help me understand my own experiences? Might, for instance, what we experience as kundalini-like energies be an energetic/information flow of consciousness through the channel of a shared resonance between personal, trauma-based complexes and numinous, archetypally patterned daimons? She reflects on the value of, and possible risks in, opening ourselves up to deep psyche and the need to hold and support these processes well. She concludes with some reflections on whether the process experienced by individuals might also be reflected in the experience of humanity as a whole, in the hope of finding some guidance for how we might live wisely and peacefully on our planet. Jeannet Weurman is a retired counsellor, social worker, and mental health advocate based in Cambridge, UK. She first experienced kundalini-like energies in the mid-1990s, initially triggered by Holotropic Breathwork, but subsequently also by meditation, use of psychedelics and spontaneously. Jeannet trained as a Holotropic Breathwork Facilitator with Stan Grof in the late ‘90s and completed the two-year training in Deep Relational Process (psychedelic assisted therapy) with the Institute of Psychedelic Therapy as part of the first cohort in ’23. She volunteered as a guide on the PsilOCD trial at Imperial College, London ’22-’24. Jeannet has organised speaker events under the name ‘Cambridge Consciousness Forum’ and has written blogs for New Europeans and the World Upshift Forum. She is currently involved in organising a Trauma-Informed Palliative Care Project and has a special interest in ‘deep listening’, consciousness and spirituality, and how these can inform humanity’s response to the global meta-crisis. About Jen Two years ago, Jen went through an intense spiritual awakening around a similar time to learning about her own neurodivergence.  Following this, she felt as if the newly awakened energy inside was calling her to make changes in her life. One of these changes surprised her - a strong internal push to get officially diagnosed. Jen is now diagnosed with ADHD and Autism or “AuDHD”. Over the last two years, she’s listened to countless people talk of their experiences of both spiritual awakening and ‘neurodivergent awakening’, yet hasn’t heard many speak of these two experiences together. Jen has felt an inner call to speak on this.

After practicing as a Christian for many years, life events caused Joanne to leave the church she had faithfully attended each week and question everything she had once believed. She found the inner conflict about her faith deeply distressing and was struggling with anxiety. After taking a short NHS course in mindfulness, she started walking in Nature where answers seemed to come to her spontaneously in shamanic form. Her new-found connection with Nature began a process of deep healing and culminated in an energetic/ kundalini awakening in 2019. Joanne believes that social conditioning and trauma mask our true nature and she is developing an approach to support the embodiment of our true nature/ higher self using tools such as dreamwork, process work, trauma therapy and deep intuition. She enjoys helping others to develop and integrate spiritual gifts as well as exploring life purpose and spiritual callings. She has a keen interest in dreams and works with dreams to support her own awakening process as well as drawing on dreams to inform her work with others on a subconscious level.
