Mine is a story spanning 40 years. In recovery from alcoholism I had an initial spiritual awakening prior to taking the 12 steps. Several experiences… The presence of the divine, voices that told me everything would be OK and of course a heightened awareness which transformed me immediately from a hunter to one reverent of life, an internal knowledge of duality and the beginning of a search for the Devine in many countries via authors of relevant books and so-called gurus. After a traumatic/toxic relationship experience I was led to a Brough Joye workshop in Arizona where upon arrival a depression descended at depth with the subsequent rising of energy, powerfully throwing me around the room and intermittently guru like a espousals of wisdom. This lasted two hours or more and subsequently manifested in screaming and alternately crying. Then came the spontaneous yoga asanas, mufras and kriyas, animal like noises and the settling in of an and the settling in of an “entity” who continues to speak through me to me. She refers to
herself as “we”. I have come to think about her as divine guidance.
I thought that I was possessed by some demon for a long time and Leila, an online guide, helped me rise above this terrifying aspect. The “channeling” would become mean when I was in doubt of its origin and would become loving when I accepted it as an aspect of kundalini. Perhaps I was working the collective shadow of the Southeastern United States, the Bible belt. I may never know and suffice to say it was quite traumatic and still lingers a bit today but not with any real impact.
Today ,when I give Her (kundalini) time, she presses me to assume certain asanas, insisting on my flexibility to assume certain poses. The screaming has subsided and t I notice subtle changes for the better on this Journey. I have ceased expectancy where enlightenment was concerned and have settled down for the cleansing and whatever shape it takes.
This is a short version
An amazing story for the short version. Blessings upon you for surrendering and accepting the guidance of kundalini. Your journey will bring you much joy, peace, and happiness "as long as you do not lose patience before a desirable condition is brought about, if your courage has not been exhausted, and your hope has endured." The words in quotations are by Sufi Master Hazrat Inayat Khan.
