Co-Eldering and the Sacrament of Transformative Living
Homo sapiens are 'wise humans' which gives a clear indication that we have the deep, soulful and sacred resources to tackle the burgeoning multi-levelled crises currently engulfing the world. In this talk I propose that fully embracing and engaging our wise and transformational potential is essential in these transitional times. Each person alive at this momentous time can contribute their unique psycho-social-spiritual 'gifts' to co-create renewed ways of living, which are expressed through the Sacrament of Co-Eldering.
In practice, Co-Eldering is based on a profound trust in 'the wisdom of the depths', via dreams, intuitive and embodied ways of knowing, synchronicities and altered states of consciousness etc, which can inspire personal and collective processes of individuation (wholeness). Co-Eldering is deeply relational and it is engaged and expressed through multidimensional ways of 'knowing, being, doing and emerging'. It means we not only prioritise our own inner processes of healing and wholeness, but we also support one another to live more deeply and wisely. A key premise of Co-Eldering is based on the reality that 'All Life Is Holy', inclusive of minerals, plants, animals, humans and spirits. From this perspective, Co-Eldering is underpinned by a service ethic to people and all beings living on or around the planet. Co-Eldering activates the highest form of service towards life as a whole, which is offered through 'Love In Action' for the foundation of a peaceful and sacred future.

Biography – Mick Collins
After a life-changing spiritual crises in the mid-1980's, Mick trained and worked for many years as an occupational therapist in acute mental health settings, and in a specialist psychological therapies team, where he integrated a transpersonal approach in his work with people. During this time he spent nine years training in Process Oriented Psychology. Mick also worked for ten years as a Lecturer and Director of Admissions within the Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences, University of East Anglia, Norwich, UK. Mick’s doctoral thesis (2012), his peer-reviewed articles and book chapters are mostly focused on the process of renewal within experiences of spiritual emergence and emergency and the activation of our transpersonal potential. His research and practice explores how these deep transformative encounters can inspire our individual and collective efforts to tackle the multiple crises in the world at this time. Mick has written three books. His first, The Unselfish Spirit won the 2014 Scientific and Medical Network book prize. His second book, The Visionary Spirit was described as a “transformational tour de force” by David Lorimer. His third, The Restorative Spirit was published in March 2022, and was one of the winners of The Scientific and Medical book prize. He was interviewed about his work at the 2015 Hay Festival and also on Conscious TV in 2016. Mick retired from academia in 2015, but still works as an associate at the UEA. He continues to run workshops and speaks at events. Mick lives in Norwich with his wife Hannah and is a father and grandfather.
