Speaker: Emma Bragdon
Topic: Emma will be speaking about the path of kundalini awakening vis a vis the path of opening to the full expression of life energy. She will share stories of her own path of awakening as well as some anecdotes from individuals she has worked with in private practice. She will address the need for the conventional bio-medical field to understand phenomena of spiritual awakening and where it stands now. She will shed light on what can cause distress on the path, how to avoid it, and what people can do to best facilitate create the best outcomes. She will also illuminate what her not-for-profit organization, IMHU, is doing.
About Emma: Emma Bragdon, PhD, is the Founder/ Executive Director of Integrative Mental Health University (IMHU). She's been a meditator for 62 years. Her first experience of kundalini happened in a Zen Buddhist monastery 59 years ago. She was trained in body-centred psychotherapy as well as transpersonal psychology before being licensed as a psychotherapist. The mission of IMHU is to bring spiritual experience into the model of care used by psychiatry and psychology. She has trained and certified 140 "Spiritual Emergence Coaches" to support those in distress regarding their spiritual awakening experiences. She has written 7 books and co-produced 2 documentary films. She is a member of the Self-realization Fellowship - a path dedicated to kundalini awakening.
