My Story:
Greetings everyone, very happy to have found this group. Had not seen this topic untill a few days ago, have been reading everyone's story, fascinating! I've deleted two other postings regarding my awakening in 1979, forty seven years ago.
Prior to the awakening, I'd experimented with seances in high school, progressing through college with Edgar Cayce, Ouspenski's "In Search of the Miraculous" and Sufi literature. By this time I was in Music School, and by age 25 had given it all up to become a professional (ha!) musician. I could feel/hear the spirituality that was in Music. It was an exciting time for me,
I had accompanied my then wife to a meeting/sales pitch for a group promoting confrontational reality. I'd read about it in Psychology Today a few months before, I asked if I could tag along. We arrived at a home, parked and went in. I counted 22-24 people plus my wife's friends from a dance class she was taking, they're the one's who talked her into this. The meeting began with two facilitators speaking. They started by rudely telling everyone they knew nothing about themselves, why nothing had ever worked for them (us), that we had been living in delusion. I looked around, no one said anything? They continued and I finally stood up and asked what right did they have to insult and demean these folks, this started a 30-45 minute argument between myself and the two facilitators.
The meeting broke up with no one signing up and my wife and her friends furious at me. But some at the meeting came over and asked for more information about what I had said. To this day I don't really know what I said. On the drive home my wife would not speak to me. Laying in bed an hour later I felt what at first seemed like a slight itch right above my navel, I remember scratching there, but it was deeper. Over the next few minutes the itch became a vibration until every particle of my being was intensely vibrating in unison. Then the revelations began, that I was the same as what I was fighting against earlier in the evening, that I was the same as everything I had ever opposed. Revelations poured in while my personality was dissipating. At one point I was floating above a pool of dark liquid, large clear bubbles were rising out of the pool and slowly floating past me, they were the energy we write our thoughts on. Then the energy that had started in my solar plexus began to rise to the heart and love exploded then to the throat and the third eye where it felt like pressure and light.., Clarence was still here at this point but then, in the next stage the personality I considered to be "me" could not exist. There approached a great energy that seemed external, for one second alarm rose up, then that final fear dissipated and the energy entered and I stood in the white light of unity. When I came out of it all fear had been banished, there was only Love. This was 47 years ago but it wasn't until a few months ago I read about a Kundalini Awakening and realized that was what had happened. I believe It started in the solar plexus as I had no childhood trauma, loving supportive parents and a gentle time though my early teens until I was 16 and fell madly/wildly in love with a 14 year old girl.
My wife left me after the awakening saying I was not the same person she married. She was correct, for the following two months I was in a state of bliss, could not work, would've been happy standing on a street corner holding a cardboard sign saying "You Are Loved". I remember driving home and the realization of Unity/One was so powerful I began laughing and crying uncontrollably. A joy so great it could not be contained.
Addendum: Early in the awakening a life review seemed to happen and I was shown the decisions I'd made which led me to this point, as if my life was flashing before my vision.
Eternity is not a measure of length, it is not based in time, but rather in depth. The depth of this one single moment, which is Now. Love now, become conscious of forever. We are Love.
Take care everyone.
Clarence/Howard

That's very interesting about Eternity not being time-based. In my early days, I found a stone with a number 8 or eternity symbol scrawled on it and in that moment, I knew intuitively that I was connected to God. It felt so profound. I also had a dream in which my wall clock was replaced by a display of symbols (symbols being the language of Spirit). Reflecting on that dream made me more consciously aware of the illusion of time.
The physical body does age with time but the soul is eternal.
