I made this picture for you to explain the situation: on first curve, you see positive spirituality levels under drug. On second picture, you got slow paced enlightenment and same factors. Drug use is especially strong and convincing into "something exists", and many drugs can help to open gateways: I was young I made different drugs, but I did not want to get addicted. Now in last 10-15 years, and I am 43: I smoke some weed which is for example normal in Spain, but with actual psychedelic drugs and other strong mental materials, I just naturally have done less and less: last 5 years, I would guess, no drugs. I can say without drugs it's not so intense, colorful and clear, but it's a slowly building stable character, clear vision and other kinds of clarity and it's definitely my enlightenment. Drugs, in normal "medical" use: you must be clear about different drugs, their use cases, specific problems they create or resolve, and whether you can fit all this long process into your life. This is possible that while you might have intense experiences from drugs, which help to understand things: the final, stable and balanced lifestyle cannot be directly induced by drugs, but it's a very strong take for your spirit.
